HESPERUS won the first Baltimore Chamber Music Awardwith this lively and unusual program of cotillions, divisions, jigs, reels, and ballads from colonial North America, spanning the arrival of the earliest settlers through the signing of the Constitution. HESPERUS’ instrumental trio plays viols, recorders, hammered dulcimer, early guitar, Irish whistles and fiddle. Also available as a quartet program with soprano Rosa Lamoreaux.
